Yesterday was BDLPAG's final outdoor vendor event of the year. The Trick or Treat Walk was to help benefit the Humane League organization, we participated in both of their walks last year and did 2 again this year. The first was in Reading where we sampled the idea of dog painting which is when the dogs dip their paws into different colored paints to make designs on large pieces of paper. The owners loved it meanwhile the animals...had no clue what was going on :).
This was going to be a similar event with us doing the same activity but unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans in mind. She gave us an overcast, dreary, cold and extremely windy day! Some of the vendors lost racks and merchandise to the wind while some walkers lost pieces of their costumes from wind and overzealous canines lol.
The whole event was fun to see and though cold a great way to show support to a worthy nonprofit and we still enjoyed showing off the great products our artists create. Though the dog painting didn't go over so well with the weather the way it was, we did part with several other items that fulfilled a need more than a want (hand made scarves are usually a hit when the cold weather hits).
All in all we went out with a bang for our last vendor event of the year. It was both enjoyable yet a long day (temps didn't go up til it was time to pack up) and we will be more than happy to do it all again next year!
